If you have tried the downgrade, please post telling how it went. If it worked or failed or if you had to do something special, let's hear it.

I've prepared to Dowgrade mine and really wanted to share mine on 3.1 but I've been wandering around the terminal for hours to bypass itunes certificated fetch. Google doesn't help because I'm pretty noob at those. Anyone wanted to help me out here? BTW I'm on Mac.

Followed Saurik's instructions to the letter and the downgrade process seemed to go fine. However, when I did the jailbreak using Redsn0w, it hung up at "Installing Activation Bundles".

I could restore but when it's time to jailbreak, my iphone 3GS cannot end the jailbreak process. It rolls down hundreds of lines of "waiting for NAND to appear..." Any idea ??

I had to do the jailbreak twice...Mine hung halfway through "uploading ram disk" or whatever...I was using a crappy aftermarket usb cable...Canceled the process, swapped cable with cable from my ipod classic, and tried again. Jailbreak went exactly as advertised.

Yeah, cool I got it ! Just had to make sure that the item is powered off before hold + plug the usb cable before the jailbreak process !

I've got the same problem.. went from 3.1 to 3.0 and used redsn0w to jailbreak it. The phone starts up but doesn't connect to my provider.

Did the whole process over...but this time I used iRecovery to boot the phone first. Set up as new phone. Then used redsn0w to jailbreak. Good to go.

No phone function... I think I will try to boot with iRecovery first (before the jailbreak)

Just did this using saurik's method and the iRecover auto-boot true method to remain un JB at the moment and everything went off without a hitch!

That's weird about the no service thing. Mine activated within a minute of the restore, and it picked up the at&t signal no problem.

Yeah, it's because you have to do the iRecovery step before jailbreaking... don't know why but it works for me now.
