I have read Saurik's instructions, but I am having trouble editing the file. It is a read only and I'm confused. Can someone help?

You know the last time we had to screw around with this file was when the first iPhone came out and DVD Jon figured out how to hack the activation.

We had to edit the hosts file. IIRC it is read only. So change it so that you can edit it, then set it back to read only.

what I did (Vista Home Premium)

First things first, approve all UAC prompts

copy hosts and rename hosts - Copy to hosts.original
open hosts file (double click, pick from a list and choose notepad)
add the info to the bottom that saurik said to add
save file (it made me save it as hosts.txt in my Documents folder)
    remove .txt extension
copy file to the original location and choose copy & replace option

there were quite a few UAC prompts, which I guess I am the only person in the world that doesn't mind them, and I just said yes to them all. Seems like a few wasteful steps, but it worked like a champ for me.
