On Vista 64bit you have to do the following:

1.- First of all, Run Notepad as administrator (otherwise your changes won't be saved)
2.- Click File > Open and navigate to C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc
3.- On notepad, look at the bottom where it says "File name" and beside that is a select box showing ".txt Text Documents" click on there and change it to "All Files".
4.- Voila! you just found your hosts file and you are ready to edit and save it!

PS: Vista users don't forget to run Notepad as administrator, otherwise your changes won't be saved unless you have UAC turned off.

    Happy downgrading!
    Thanks Saurik.
