iPhone with 3.0 started dying after upgrading my packages from cydia (lib hide, sb settings, cydia...) - nothing unusual.
It automatic shut down during "apple welcome screen" - after ~10 seconds of startup.
I can put it on recovery and DFU mode - So the hardware seem to be OK.
Tried to jailbreak it again using redsn0w - it stuck with "Mounting disk0s2s1 ERROR"

I guess that 3.1 is my only option.

I have two 00.SHSH file for 3.1 - On my PC, not on cydia server:
    - 00.SHSH - Straight from apple server - before changing the host file.
    - 00.SHSH - Another one after changing the host file to saurik's server.

I've got both of them using the umbrellaGUI. And they are a little bit different.

    1) How come they are different?
    2) Should I use TinyTTS for this process?
    3) Which one should I use for the TinyTTS?
    4) Should I restore using DFU or Recovery?

    1) They are different because Saurik's server adds "<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">" to the file, where as apple's server does not.

2, 3 & 4) You don't need to use TinyTTS to restore back to 3.1, as Apple is currently signing 3.1 restores, simply plug up your iPhone and restore back to 3.1. RedSn0w does not work on the iPhone 3GS currently, as there has not been a release to jailbreak 3.1 on the 3GS yet. As for DFU or Recovery, i'd try DFU first, if that fails try Recovery.

Yes, they will be, despite the files doing the same thing, the content generated will be different each time.
