Hey guys, I've been around for the while Jailbreaking since 1.1.2. I know my way around the various jailbreaks pretty well. In late March 2010 I purchased a 3GS that had the newer iBoot. It malfunctioned and I had it replaced, much to my surprise I got an MB718LL with iBoot 359. By the time I needed to jailbreak it, Spirit had already come out and I just used that so I'm not exactly sure if it is tether bound, but I cannot imagine it would be.

Well long story short my phone is now on 4.0 official release, and I want to get it jailbroken. I was able to downgrade to 3.1.3, but when I try to update I either get a 1600 error (restoring with recovery) or I just get stuck on prepping for restore (restoring in normal mode). Do I have some sort of bastard iBoot running? WTF?!

Not sure how to help you, but you should remove that "About" picture from your post. Lots of people can copy and use that information.

You would be surprised. Have you ever heard of IMEI ghosting? or iccid serial theft and reproduction. Im an ex-AT&T sales rep, and like i said, you would be surprised.

Apple could use those numbers to stop warrenty on it.

In addition to what Hoshigolean said.

You need to be at 3.1.2 jailbroken to get to 4.0 jailbroken unless you used a custom FW to get to 3.1.3.

Well I made a custom 3.1.3 FW with Sn0wbreeze but couldn't get it to restore. I will amend the pic
