I jailbroke iPhone 3G on 4.0.2, iPhone 3G was previously jailbroken on firmware 3.1.2 and was accidentally updated to 4.0.2 by someone else who brought it to me to fix it.

iPhone did not have SHSH blobs saved on Cydia, so downgrading wasn't an option for me.

Model: iPhone 3G MBLL (Old boot)
    Firmware: 4.0.2
    BB: 5.13.04

So I used RedSnow 9.5b5-5, and firmware 4.0 to jailbreak it. It worked like a charm without any error.

Than I used ultrasn0w to unlock it.

For those that made this mistake updating to 4.0.2 and not having SHSH blobs saved it might be your only way to get that phone jailbroken and unlocked again.

I did not do the test on other models of any other phone.

    Thanks
