is there a way to share a cydia app? eg say you want to have a friend check out an app, instead of saying "hey search so-and-so in cydia", just a way to link it so it opens right to the package, like the app store does

so what? its a matter of convenience. there are so many tweaks in cydia that you can make the argument that it's just as easy otherwise.. take sbsettings. is it really harder to go to settings to toggle these options? not at all. but its convenient to swipe the status bar to toggle.

No, it's much easier to use SBSettings than launching the settings app, finding the right section, then toggling your setting. This is as simple as knowing a name.

don't confuse ease with convenience. linking a package would still be more convenient than opening up cydia, waiting for it to load, searching, finding the right one in the search results, etc. youtube, app store, safari all have the share option. you can make that argument for all those then, just search such and such video in youtube, why have a share option?

not everyone finds cydia easy to navigate. to be specific, i have a cousin who needs his phone jailbroken for certain reasons. everytime he has to jb i have to hold his hand thru it. he's gone thru it at least 5-6 times. he can't do it from memory. he's just not savvy with things like this. so it would be easier if i could text him a link and say here just install this. otherwise he doesn't want to be bothered with using cydia

there actually is a way to do so, it would be "cydia://PACKAGE-BUNDLE-ID"

    i.e: "cydia://com.modmyi.bitethaflyretina"

it should open cydia and go directly to the application

    No, this will:
    cydia://package/BUNDLEID
    You need the /package part.
    Also can do /changes
    Maybe even /store, /search, etc.
    Try opening this:
    cydia://package/cc.co.aehmlo.idesktop
    Should open to iDesktop.

That's nothing. Took me two days to make. Check out the theme linked to in my signature for a good theme.

Yep, works fine Had a look around this and for anyone interested:
    using /search does work
using https://cydia.saurik.com instead of cydia:// will open the link in your browser (maybe useful if you want to check something out without actually buying it if your browser is faster than cydia)
and cydia://themes/ will take you straight to the HD featured themes page

If you and your friend don't have wifi, you could have the deb file backed up or possible still in the folder cydia downloads debs to. If you both have iFile you could send it through Bluetooth
