First of all, I would like to apologize if there is a thread for this topic already. I did about three hours of searching on Google, here and several other forums, and either I am not finding what I am looking for or I probably just passing it. So my apologizes again if there is a thread already.

Is there anyway you can minimize application on the iPhone without fully closing it? I know you can press the home button and then get back but sometimes it not at the same place where I was before. Is there anyway to minimize application like how its on Windows Mobiles devices?

I will appreciate any help on this topic. I am a fairly new iPhone user and I am trying to read and learn things as fast as I can.

No, apple has specifically stated no applications beside official apple ones may run in the background. But their are a few jailbroken apps(like mobilescrobbler) that since arent ruled by apples SDK can.
