what exactly does Tap Tap Revenge 'push'? unless it's changed a lot since I last used it, I can't think what need it could have for push notifications....

btw here is my review of quickpigeon: (originally posted in a different forum, i dont give the link because here that would be site advertising, and yes the previous post was mine)

This is quite possibly the new BBM (Black Berry Messenger) for the iPhone. It is a simple, stunningly genius idea. Basically, after you have allowed the app to send you push notifications and provided it with your name, a text box appears. You type in a question, say..."Anybody wanna go to TacoBell?" and then select the recipients right from your contacts list (that contact must have an email account). After you press send it will send an email to the recipient that shows them the question and them lets them reply "yes" or "no". Then through push you are instantly notified wether they replied yes or know. It is MUCH cheaper than texting, and much quicker than composing an email. The app does have its limitations though. For example, you can ONLY say yes or no which can get annoying. Also, you don't really create an account, so anyone can have the same username/name making easy to get impersonated and hard to keep track of certain people since well...there's not even a feed. Lastly, the question of how often this app will actually come in handy is also a deal braker...

    here is a video demo:

No it is not. Doesn't seem any of the IM applications have a functional Push Notification so far. Beejive is awaiting approval. IM+ uses email notifications.

Good thread! Perhaps the original poster could update the first post so links to apps aren't spread across the entire thread?

Truphone pushes voicemail notifications, but not IM Notifications. IM apparently doesn't stay logged in at close.
