In my small town, Iím basically known as ďthe computer guyĒ. Therefore, if it involves some sort of technology, Iím the go-to-guy for a lot of people. Iím sure some of you out there know exactly what Iím talking about.

Anyway, my Uncle gave me a call over the weekend and was asking me what apps do I think would be good for his two little boys. Of course, I named a few off the top of my head like Tree World, Angry Birds, etcÖ I told him that if I could think of anymore that I would let him know. So, thatís the inspiration for this thread.

Letís make a list of apps that would be good for children to have on their device. They donít have to be educational apps, but that definitely helps, as Iím sure a lot of parents would really like that. Hopefully we can get a really good list going. Of course, Iíll be suggesting the apps listed here to my Uncle, so he can get them for my nephews. Iíll start:

    Angry Birds

Is this still the most popular App on the App store? If itís not, Iím sure nearly everyone has heard about it. Itís a very simple game, but itís highly addictive and will keep children and adults alike entertained for hours. Basically, you use a slingshot to fling the angry birds at the green pigs and try your best to destroy them. Itís simple, family-friendly and enjoyable.

    Tree World

This app was developed by the same people that made Zombie Farm and Zombie Life, but it is friendly for small children. Basically, you have a bunch of critters that hang out on a tree and you try your best to make the tree bigger. That way, the tree has more space, so you can acquire more pets for your tree.

Ready to see beyond your life? This app can help you share your life to strangers. When you join cBeyond, you will acquire daily matching chances, which will enable you to connect with partners from outside of your social graph. You can find more interesting people around the world.

    Itís Me! Peter Pan

This game is a lot of fun for children, because they get to see themselves participating in the video game. Basically, you can use your picture and it will be placed on top of Peter Panís body. So, you can see why kids would love it. Plus, they will be accompanied by Tinker Bell, Wendy, John, Michael and they will also be able to do battle with Captain Hook.

    Cut the Rope

Cut the Rope is a great app that will also challenge children. Basically, there is a piece of candy and you have to figure out how to get the candy to fall into the Om Nomís mouth. Believe it or not, itís a lot of fun and can definitely be challenging. My girlfriendís nieces really get a kick out of this one.

    CookieCoo Dancing Star

This app was actually just released and it says that itís free for a limited time. I donít know about that, but itís definitely fun and education for kids. Children will be able to dance and sing along with the characters on the game. So, it will educate them and teach them rhythm, as well. Also, they get to choose between different instruments, so they will be able to recognize and identify the different sounds that instruments make.

Like I said, right now Iím just naming a few to get the ball rolling and show you what Iím trying to accomplish here. If you have any suggestions, please list them below. It doesnít have to be anything special or even contain a description. Just please include the iTunes link so we know where to find them.
