That's a loaded question. They are both better than each other in their own respects. The questions you must ask yourself are what's more important? Performance (Pro), Weight (air), CD Drive (Pro), Battery (Air). It's not about what WE think is better.. it's which one fits YOUR needs.

Well unfortunetly you can't have it all. I own an Air but that's b/c I have a BEAST of a PC that I custom built for downloading music and videos... 2 Tara bytes of storage... quad core extreme processor, etc, etc. The air is something i can have on my lap and carry around in a sleeve and doesn't feel like a brick. But only has 80gigs of space and is pretty slow unless you're only doing internet, email, and docs. If this is your ONLY computer then I would not get the air...

No,I have a normal (white) MacBook.... This wont be my only computer
By the way,can you insert CDs/DVDs into Air? I know it doesnt have a drive, but maybe somehow?

You have 2 options... remote disk (software which comes with the Air that allows you to wirelessly transfer data from one computer's CD rom to you Air). The other option is a $99 external drive which is powered from the USB port and designed exclusively for the Air.

If its a secondary computer as you said, and you don't need things like the optical drive, the Air is the way to go.

    Hey,

It all depends on what you plan on doing. I had a macbook pro and LOVED it. Awesome machine! But i am a college student and didnt really need that much power or that much size. I got rid of it for a macbook air and am COMPLETLY happy with it. Loved both machines. I dont do alot of disc burning (i use my iphone and apple tv) if you have any spacific questions. ask me

MacPro is probably as powerful as a desktop as you can get. Its like a mini supercomputer when fully souped up but is very costly. Macbook Pro is one of the fastest laptops you can get out there when fully souped up also. Both computers are great for all around purposes and run any windows version 100% faster then most computers out there.. according to err...

If I ever helped you or made a comment you like, press the "thanks" button!

Lol I thought you already got your answer and made a decision, that's why I made the comment. You said yourself that the thread could be closed. Anyway, I've used macs at my school, my friends all have macs, and I've had one mac before. I know how bad they are.

I had a hard time trying to decide on the macbook or macbook pro... after doing alot of research I found that many have problems with the macbook pro.... I had to call Apple for something and I had asked the person that was helping me if the macbook or pro was better...

She stated to me that the macbook pro has a lot of problems.... and that they get more of them back.... more or less she said look at all of the referbs on their site.... and I did only to find there was alot of macbook pro's on their site that were referbs.....

I keep watching their site for the referbs and there are still alot of them on their site... so I choose to keep the macbook that I had purchased instead of the pro....
