For the love of Pete. Right on the 4th page it states

"Never attempt to repair or modify iPhone yourself"

Yet you are hacking the everloving hell out of this thing and I love you all for it! I'm new here but you already knew that. I was semi-into modding Motos a while back and am constantly looking for something new to tinker with. I come to the iPhone from a BB and while I am let down on some features I am blown away by more. I haven't had the thing 5 hours and I've already added ringers, custom SMS sound and now I'm researching skinning as my next foray. I would just like to say thanks to everyone who is making our dreams come true. I don't understand half of what you are doing but you make that irrelevant with some very well written DIY guides. Keep up the good work!

Wait.....Yeah! I DO remember there being something like that. Didn't say something like "Blah blah blah words words words manual." I think that's as far as I got before I tossed it. (Hey! it was blocking my cleaning cloth)

Did it really say "Mod by yourself"? If so that would explain why SOO many Apple employees have modded phones

So are they giving Apple employees a hard time if the have modded THEIR phones? That would be so funny if they did like 'random interface checks' in the workplace, sorta like random drug testing... to expose the unauthorized behavior.

On the other hand maybe they're encouraging modding the crap outta them to research how to break the mods?

or maybe apple doesn't care that we are modding the iphone, if they did they would have already sent the owners of this site a cease and desist order.

no they don't give anyone a hard time about it. Steve himself mention to the developer at the leopard keynote that looks forward to seeing the new apps and widgets that the developers come up with for the iphone.
