all set up? I didn't have to do anything except enter two cydia sources. I went from 4.2.1 to 4.3.1 and jail broke without syncing one single app or song, it left everything untouched just like the last two times I upgraded.

Maybe it's because of the new firmware. Maybe the file system part that deals with the phone was thinned out. Maybe aliens really do exist. Maybe...

My FireWire 400 to 800 cable came in and just as predicted it was a complete waste of time.

The iMac G5 doesn't support snow Leo so I can't open it to mount to the target iMac. Also, 10.5 doesn't have remote install os x so no go there either. Totally effed..

So the G5 iMac won't even see 10.7, unmountable. Not an issue, don't need it..... just wanted to try. It won't mount 10.6, not supported. It will mount 10.5, but the NEW imac won't support it. in target disk mode trying to install 10.5 from the g5 to the new imac I get this........

The fix is of course something I cannot do.......

    Resolution
    Solution
To install Mac OS X on the disk, you must partition the drive to match the native partition scheme for your computer's processor type (Intel or PowerPC). Partitioning splits the disk into two or more volumes (though you can choose just one partition to resolve this particular issue, as described below).

I was told the iMac would default to external if the internal was removed...... Works! Problem now is that fans run at full speed. System obviously detects something screwy. How to fix?

Merci. Time to fix that perhaps? (Unless it's a baseband EEP/FLS thing, in which case I won't be going anywhere quickly with that).
