Here's a place to talk about Baseball games, trades, standings etc.

Did anyone hear about that Orioles pitcher who is the main suspect in a murder?

(I'll add in a MLB logo when I get to my PC)

Uggh, baseball. I lost all enthusiasm when Nolan retired and the league went on strike.

I've tried to getting back into it a couple times to no avail. I did take my uncle to one of the Yankees - Twins playoff games when I was in NYC this fall and must admit, I could definitely get into it in that environment!

My Phillies might just have the best rotation EVER. What do you guys think?

Also, as the steroid era becomes Hall of Fame eligible, it seems like voters are electing to just completely leave them out. Opinions?

"It's Always Winning..." isn't a quote that should ever be applied to the losingest franchise in professional sports history.

I don`t know if they`ll be as good as everyone says. With the addition of Lee, theyèll still probably better, but the lost werth and it's another year added to an already old team

PLEASE tell me you understand the parody of the pic though. Also, when you've been around since 1883 playing over 100 games each year, it's pretty easy for the losses to build up...

Oh I absolutely understand the parody; I watch the show religiously.

As far as being around since 1883, the next 5 losingest baseball teams have all been around since before the Phillies, and they all have >= .500 records... The Phillies are over 1,000 games under .500 (technically atlanta is a hair under even, but it rounds to .500).

Meh, I think you're reading a little too much into a little bit of Photoshop fun...

I'm a tad biased (even though I try to look at the situation without it), but although Werth is a loss, there are role players like Ben Francisco, maybe a cheap FA OF, or maybe Dominic Brown will step up and fill the void. Also, with the Phillies rotation, that could make up for the RBI's lost with losing Werth to FA...

Wow, Jays just traded Vernon Wells for Mike Napoli. I see Napoli as a good fit since he can hold fort til Arencibia is ready, plus he earns a lot less
