For those of you that want to animate your iOS home screens, and help fight pediatric cancer, it would be worth your time to check out and purchase a new jailbreak tweak in Cydia today called LivelyIcons by iOS developer Filippo Bigarella.
Buying the tweak helps fight pediatric cancer, because for every copy sold, Filippo will donate $1 to two separate foundations focused on pediatric cancer research. Those two organizations are:
- Città della Speranza, an Italian association based in Padova
- Because of Ezra, a non profit pediatric cancer research foundation run by Kyle Matthews and Robyn Matthews
Filippo says that donating $1 to each of these organizations for each copy sold is important to him for personal reasons, and states that he will provide proof of the donations 4-5 weeks after the launch of LivelyIcons, which was released just today. Why did Filippo go through with this?:
So what does LivelyIcons do? It will actually animate your home screen application icons when you tap on them to launch an application. The tweak comes with several animations to pick from, and a setting to choose the speed of the animations. The LivelyIcons preferences pane is shown below:

You can enable and disable the tweak on demand, and the slider adjusts the speed of the animations – the further left the slider is, the quicker the animation will be, while the further right the slider is, the slower the animation will be. The animations you have to pick from are:
- Zoom In
- Wiggle
- Spin Clockwise
- Spin Counter Clockwise
- Spin Clockwise (Image)

- Bounce
- Pacman (Horizontal)
- Pacman (Vertical)
- Ripple
- Shake
- Random
You won’t need to respring every time you make changes to the preferences pane, as your options will be applied automatically. It’s a fun tweak that will make your home screen more fun to use, and at the same time, you donate to a good cause by buying the tweak.
LivelyIcons is available right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository for $1.99 and supports iOS 6 only.
