On Monday morning in Barcelona at the start of Mobile World Congress 2013, Samsung confirmed that it's eagerly anticipated Galaxy S IV will be formally unveiled next month, as the rumor mill expected.
The most hyped smartphone in Samsung history will have a press event in its honor to herald its debut on March 14th. As of this writing, however, it isn't known what the actual release date of the device will be.
“We introduced the Galaxy S III in London last year, and this time we changed the venue (to New York)… as we were bombarded with requests from U.S. mobile carriers to unveil the Galaxy S IV in the country,” Samsung Electronics’ mobile division chief JK Shin said this morning, according to Reuters.
Samsung Electronics may have lost its lead in the U.S. handset market but globally the $210 billion South Korean giant is expected to widen its smartphone advantage over its Cupertino, California-based rival this year, helped by a broad product line-up.
