• TinyUmbrella Updated to Support iOS 6.1.3

There seems to be some good news for jailbreakers recently as notcom has updated his popular SHSH blob-saver to support iOS 6.1.3. It should be noted that Apple seeded iOS 6.1.3 to users more than a month ago to fix the latest Lock screen security bug and provide some improvements to Maps. Unfortunately for many iOS users, iOS 6.1.3 also killed several exploits that the evad3rs were using in their evasi0n jailbreak tool, effectively killing the iOS 6 jailbreak.

Those of you who upgraded to iOS 6.1.3, whether it was by accident or choice, are stuck with it for now but it doesnt hurt to be prepared for anything to come. TinyUmbrella version 6.13.00 will help you save your SHSH blobs just in case. Notcom said the following on his Tinyumbrella blog:

TinyUmbrella 6.13.00 supports iOS 6.1.3 and the relevant devices. Ive also fixed a nagging bug that windows users have reported (ClassNotFoundException on Platform).

Thank you all for your support and feedback!
Its unlikely that well see another jailbreak before iOS 7 but we dont know for sure so its better to be safe and ready instead of sorry. Wed recommend saving SHSH blobs for every firmware, on all of your devices, just in case you need them later. For those of you who are still on iOS 6.1.2 or lower, you dont need to worry about any of this!

It is just useless for iphone user 4s and 5 and other idevice with A5, A5x & A6 chip. You save the BLOBS but still cant downgrade.
      So whats the point ?

Tiny umbrella should MARKET that its only for A4 and older devices... not for A5 and up devices..

Ya never know really maybe one day someone will come up with something so it's always good to do it just in case.

However at some future point in time the blobs for newer devices MAY become useful. I'd rather be prepared just in case...

well. you never know when the blobs could come in handy in the future. just because they don't know of a good use for them today doesn't mean they might not be useful if someone comes up with a jailbreak or downgrade that can take advantage of them.

costs you a few megs of disk space and a few minutes of your time. no reason not to be saving blobs for your ios devices on a regular basis. i've been doing so for years and offered them to the buyers when i've sold old devices.
