• AT&T Adds Five New Locations to Their 4G LTE Coverage Map

Wednesday morning, AT&T announced the carrier's plans to add 4G LTE coverage to another 50 United States cities before the end of 2013, along with an extensive list of those cities.

AT&T has also brought 4G LTE network coverage to another five United States cities that arenít on the list released Wednesday. Those additional cities include the following:

    • Georgetown, South Carolina
    • Jayuya, Puerto Rico
    • New Bern, North Carolina
    • Ruston, Louisiana
    • State College, Pennsylvania

AT&Tís 4G LTE network may not be as large as Verizonís, but AT&T does offer 4G HSPA+, which can be accessed by many devices where 4G LTE isnít available. 4G HSPA+ offers a slight boost in speed over 3G.

While, 4G LTE offers a theoretical download speed of around 100Mb/s, the realistic download speeds, because of network congestion, are more or less around 20-60Mb/s.

Many of Apple's latest devices, including the iPhone 5, iPad Mini, and iPad with retina display can take advantage of AT&T's ultra-fast 4G LTE network.
