As the developer of the popular ProTube Extension for YouTube revealed last night in a Tweet teasing the release before it actually happened, ProTube Extension for YouTube version 2.2 with full support for Google’s new YouTube 2.0 application for iOS has been released in Cydia.
The update takes advantage of the new YouTube 2.0 interface. In addition, the developer notes that he has been able to improve the download acceleration feature, and improve the download engine overall. This will help make for more seamless and faster video download experiences.
New features include being able to sort and rearrange the videos that you download right from the downloaded videos tray, the ability to select more than one video at once for audio conversion, a new pause audio feature for when you disconnect your headphones, and support for Bluetooth file transfer for other ProTube-using devices.
Existing customers of ProTube Extension for YouTube can grab the update from Cydia for free. If you would like to purchase ProTube Extension for YouTube from Cydia for the first time, you will have to shell out $2.99 for the tweak, which you will find in Cydia's BigBoss repository. Notably, the tweak works on all iPhones, iPod touches, and iPads running iOS 5.0 or later.
