A new e-mail client dubbed Ping is set to hit the App Store later this month that will include both e-mail and messenger-like functionality.
The feature set will include letting the user switch between message view and thread view on demand, seeing when the other person is typing a message, and even supporting media sharing. In addition, Ping will support the popular iCloud, Yahoo!, Gmail, and AOL e-mail clients right out of the box, as well as push notifications, and gestures; all packed into a beautiful interface.
Media can be imported into a conversation from the Camera Roll, taken fresh from the lens, imported from the Internet, doodled by the user, or even spoken by the user before being sent to the recipient. All of these options offer tons of unique flexibility that isn't available in too many iOS e-mail clients.

To reserve your spot for Ping when it comes out, similarly to the Mailbox e-mail application by Orchestra, you will need to head over to Ping’s Web page, where you will enter your mobile phone number. You will receive a notification after the application is released with instructions for signing up.
