Given the burgeoning success Apple's iDevice line is experiencing in the enterprise sector, it doesn't come as a surprise that Apple has purportedly reached a new product distribution agreement with Staples.
Although Apple has worked with Staples in the past to offer consumers everything from the Apple TV to iPad Smart Covers, the expansive new deal - which has not been formally confirmed by Apple or Staples yet - will allow the prominent office supply chain to sell iPads and iPods.
As far as we know, however, sales of the hardware will be limited to Staples' online website. Although this arrangement may be in place by October, there's a chance that brick-and-mortar availability of the Apple devices will be realized by the end of 2013 or early 2014.
"Apple will be watching how many iPads and iPods each store refers to its online site during the holiday season, and, perhaps, in 2013, Staples retail stores will be allowed to stock the devices," says Julie Bort of Business Insider.
