• Analyst believes the iWatch Will Do More Than Just be an iPhone Companion

According to a new research note by Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White, the long-rumored iWatch may be used as a home automation gateway, allowing users to control various functions within their houses. The following was said regarding the matter:

As an Apple supplier, our contact offered insight into the "iWatch" and described this potential new device as much more than an extension of your iPhone but as a multi-purpose gateway in allowing consumers to control their home (i.e., heating/cooling, lights, audio, video, etc.).
Such functionality would mirror the abilities of apps by Philips and Nest to power the Hue lightbulbs and the Nest Thermostat, both of which allow users to control lighting and temperate from simple commands on their devices. However, as these services require additional accessories, it would likely mean that Apple would have to manufacture these accessories itself or create a licensing program for third parties, similar to AirPlay.

It isn’t a surprise to hear that the iWatch will be far more than an iPhone companion given repeated reports of the health-sensor technology rumored to be built into it. That being said, the potential inclusion of home automation does seem like new speculation which was not brought up in the past.

It should be noted that White has provided somewhat questionable reports in the past, claiming that an Apple television set with an “iRing” motion control remote would be coming this year and that the iPhone 5S would come in multiple sizes. That being said, he did predict there would be multiple color choices for the next iPhone (which were seen with the iPhone 5C).

We’ll have to wait to see which of these rumors are true and which aren’t by waiting for concrete information. As of right now two iWatch models with a 1.3- and 1.6-inch 320x320 AMOLED screens are said to be arriving at some point next year.

So basically this guy is just making up rumors based on almost no facts. I mean seriously he's as bad as a Psychic and just as correct as he only got 1 of 4 guesses correct. Why does anyone listen to these overpaid wannabe Psychics??

Yes, Samsung should be worried now that Apple is targeting even more of their products.

Basically a male and female version, based on size... Hopefully it will come out as a remote for the new 2014 iTV.
