If the latest projections from DisplaySearch are accurate, Apple's next-generation iPhone 6 and smartwatch product dubbed the iWatch across the tech blogosphere could make for a fascinating year of product releases for Apple over the next 12 months.
Based on the data presented on DisplaySearch's new projection charts, Apple will most likely go with one of two display options on the next-gen iPhone. We're looking at either a 4.7-inch device (resolution of 1,600-by-900 pixels), or an iPhone with a 5.5-inch display (resolution of 1,920-by-1,080 pixels) delivering a pixel density of 407 PPI.
In the wearables category, the same report calls for an Apple first - an Apple product (iWatch) with an AMOLED display (1.3-inch or 1.6-inch AMOLED units) each delivering 320-by-320-pixel resolutions.
AMOLED could also begin to appear increasingly on tablet displays, where it's been conspicuously absent. Specifically, DisplaySearch sees a possible 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch AMOLED displays (the latter has been rumored to appear on a Google Nexus series tablet).
