• The Mobile Landscape of China Continues to Expand

On Tuesday, TeleGeography reported that China 3G subscribers ballooned significantly to the tune of 79% last year, growth that will go a long way to fuel the adoption of Apple's new iPhones that landed on the China Mobile network just last Friday.

China’s mobile sector expanded by 11.1% year-on-year to 1.2 billion users, the report reads, while a 3G boom has seen mobile data subscribers increase to 417.323 million during the same period.

China Mobile registered a total of 767.206 million customers for end-2013, of which 191.623 million were 3G customers, equating to a 62.2% share of the total sector and 45.9% of the 3G segment.
The data used to produce this latest report was gleaned directly from information released in recent days by China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, the top three carriers inside of the world's most populous nation.

With access to wireless services increasing at a brisk pace, the appetite for smartphones has grown in lockstep. Consequently, most industry analysts believe that Apple will sell between 20 million and 30 million iPhone units through China Mobile alone during 2014.
