• Apple Files Lawsuit Against Chinese IP Office

No stranger to battling lawsuits brought against them, Apple now has an opportunity to fight a new legal war that the Cupertino, California-based tech giant is bringing to the table directly this week.

On Monday, news surfaced that Apple is filing a lawsuit against China’s State Intellectual Property Office. This particular government agency is responsible for patent rights protection. In this matter, Apple is suiting over rights to a software related to Siri.

Domestic reports cite Xinhua news agency via the Economic Times for details, which indicate that Apple’s case against the State Intellectual Property Office (and Shanghai Zhizhen Network Technology) will be heard in this week in a major venue - Beijing's top Intermediate People’s Court.

Although this isn't the first time Apple has tangled with these parties inside of China over patent-related disputes, matters are now more consequential than ever for Apple, which expects China to soon become its most important market across the global landscape.
