• Apple CFO Tapped for Goldman Sachs Board

    Goldman Sachs confirmed Monday that it has a new member on its esteemed board of directors.

    Peter Oppenheimer, the chief financial officer of Apple, will serve as an independent director for the Board, which now consists of 13 members. Of the bunch, 10 are deemed to be "independent."

    "Peter's 25 years of broad experience across important industries will add a valuable perspective to our board of directors," Goldman Sachs Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein said in a statement published this morning.

    Oppenheimer will be a member of each of the firmís Audit, Risk, Compensation and Corporate Governance, Nominating and Public Responsibilities committees.

    In addition to landing on the board for the global investment banking giant, Oppenheimer also finds himself a member of the boards of the California Polytechnic State University Foundation and of the Sacred Heart Schools in Atherton, California.
