There has been recent changes to Apple’s loyalty program for organizations that spend more than $5,000 a year on its products. The revised loyalty program offers better discounts on iPads, accessories, Macs, and for the first time, unlocked iPhones and Apple TVs. Apple recently upped the discounts on iPads, accessories, Macs, etc. by 1-3% according to a report by TechCrunch.
The loyalty program is broken into three different tiers and is all dependent on how much money is spent per year by organizations and users. The first tier starts at $5,000 and is labeled the “red” tier, followed by the “green” tier at $35,000 and lastly the “blue” tier at $200,000. Apple allocates discounts according to the tier each organization falls under and the recent changes have increased discounts for almost all product categories. Mac discounts for customers in the red tier have been upped 1%, from 5% to 6% and higher tiers have almost an 8% saving.
Apple’s iPads are seeing discounts between 2%-4% depending on the model and quantity purchased and accessories have went up 5% from 5% to 10% for lowest red tiers. Apple TVs for educational institutions are also being offered discounts, as schools have been using the set-top box to stream content to larger screens via AirPlay.
The program changes come right after important changes to iOS mass deployment and management services. Apple's recently released iOS 7.1 now allows for additional features such as granular security and device settings management, as well as its recently redone "Deployment Programs" webpage to streamline verification and enrollment processes for IT teams.
