• Twitter Brings Photo Tagging to iOS App

On Wednesday, Twitter unloaded a few attractive new features to its mobile app experience on iOS, one of which has been a longstanding request from users of the microblogging platform - the ability to tag photos (analogous to the Facebook photo-tagging feature).

"We’re rolling out two new mobile features that make photos on Twitter more social," the company announced in a blog post this afternoon. "One is photo tagging, which lets you tag the people in your photo; the other is the ability to include up to four photos in a Tweet."

According to details shared in the formal announcement, photo tagging doesn’t affect character count in the Tweet. Twitter says that users can tag up to 10 people in a photo and still have all 140 characters to use for communication.

As you might expect, users are also in the loop on images in which they find themselves tagged. "If you’re the one being tagged, you’ll get a notification," Twitter confirms. "You can adjust notifications, as well as who can tag you, in your Settings."

Lastly, similar to the trendiest of trendy images found on Instagram, you can now share a series of photos on Twitter that automatically create a collage. The ability to upload multiple photos is now live on iPhone, but it's also "coming soon" to Android as well as twitter.com.
