In what comes as another devastating blow to BlackBerry's consumer reach, T-Mobile will cease selling BlackBerry phones later this month.
We're told that all sales will conclude as of April 25th, news that caught many subscribers off guard today. Fortunately for BlackBerry owners currently on T-Mobile, these customers won't be cut off. In fact, they will still be able to use their phones and even receive product support in the future. But when their contracts are up, renewal won't be an option.
"Regretfully, at this time, our strategies are not complementary and we must act in the best interest of our BlackBerry customers," BlackBerry CEO John Chen stated Wednesday afternoon.
According to some, however, the writing has been on the wall for quite some time now with regard to this development. After all, only a few short months ago, T-Mobile began encouraging subscribers on BlackBerry to switch to Apple's iPhone.
