• Evercore: It Would Be Okay if Apple's Next Product is a "Single"

Rob Cihra of Evercore Partners wrote a note to investors recently, saying that there may only be a select few increased markets where Apple could disrupt the way iPads and iPhones have. iPhones have added 50% to Apple’s earnings, however, it would be nearly impossible to repeat that same kind of success. It is expected by Cihra that the company will produce wearable electronics, like the dubbed iWatch- but he estimated products in that particular category to be earning Apple an incremental 5%.

A few potential market categories for Apple include a larger 12-inch iPad targeted to enterprise customers, expanded Apple TV to serve as a ‘home getaway,’ and advertising and e-commerce. Cihra is confident on all the different potential growth opportunities but advised investors that they should not expect any of the products to be blockbuster products the way iPhones, iPads, and iPods were. However, he believes that each of the possible products could still add more to Apple’s net profit and help continue company growth.

Cihra believes investors should invest in AAPL stock in the near-term ahead of Apple’s scheduled April 23rd March quarter earnings. For the quarter that just finished, he believes that 37 million iPhones and 18 million iPads were sold with gross margins of 37.8%, which results in $43.8 billion revenue for the company. Evercore Partners wants to keep their ‘overweight’ rating for the AAPL stock with $670 being the target price.
