• Apple and Beats Deal May Not Be Finalized Until Next Week

According to reports following last week’s news on Apple purchasing Beats Electronics, it was rumored that the deal would be finalized and announced this week. At one point, they even said the announcement would come as early as last week or early this week. However, now Re/Code is saying that the deal won’t be finalized until next week sometime.

Apple’s planned deal to buy Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion may not be finalized until next week, according to people familiar with the transaction. That’s a longer timetable than some people expected as recently as a few days ago.

When the deal is complete, Beats co-founders Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, will be expected to take senior roles at Apple. Iovine may even possibly become the company’s new music chief. Dr. Dre and Iovine’s first official appearance as Apple employees is said to be taken place at June’s Worldwide Developer Conference, also known as the WWDC.
