• Apple Prepares to Work on Madison Avenue Retail Store in NYC

Apple may be plotting another architectural creation with its new Manhattan store on Madison Avenue, New York. The company has turned to the same team of engineers and architects that were responsible for the previous iconic stores. According to New York building permits discovered by ifoAppleStore, partners Boblin Cywinsky Jackson and Eckersley O’Callaghan were asked to remodel the 93-year old former United States Mortgage and Trust Company building, located at the corner of East 74th and Madison Avenue.

Boblin has been the architect for all Apple flagship stores, including the famous 5th Avenue cube to the Palo Alto cantilevered steel roof store. Eckersley has also helped craft Apple’s retail empire. The two worked together on the New York stores as well as Shanghai’s glass cylinder store and London’s Regent Street store. Eckersley will also be responsible in using glass in previous Apple CEO Steve Job’s super yacht designed by Philippe Starck. The ship will feature structural glass walls almost 40 feet in length.

The new store may be looking at a 2015 opening since that is what Apple is targeting.
