• Reports Say Apple Will Be Expanding in Sunnyvale, California

A recent report has claimed that Apple has agreed to sign a new campus in Sunnyvale, California, which touts a total of seven buildings. This expands the company’s operations even further beyond Cupertino. The San Jose Mercury News reported that the agreement is between Apple and Sunnyvale Crossing, which is a 290,000 square foot complex. City planning documents have stated that interior improvement building permit applications have been filled out for all seven buildings on site and Apple is listed as a tenant in one 69,000 structure. The company is supposedly planning on taking over all seven buildings which 1,450 employees are estimated to work in.

The lease comes as Apple is building its Campus 2 headquarters located in Cupertino- referred to as a “spaceship” due to its design. Apple CEO Tim Cook has already announced that the company plans on moving to the new headquarter in 2016. It’s been years now since Apple has been expanding its Cupertino campus and construction for the Santa Clara campus has also begun. The construction is said to be completed this year.
