• Swift Programming Guide Now Available for Download From iBooks

On Monday at the WWDC 2014 Keynote, Apple announced an all-new programming language called Swift that would make programming easier than ever before for iOS devices and Macs.

The new programming language is said to be much like Objective-C without the C, according to Apple's Craig Federighi – so not only is it easier to program with, but it leaves less room for mistakes, offers a ton of improvements in performance, and also makes for a much friendlier coding playground for new developers.

Apple released a new iBook in the iBooks Store called The Swift Programming Language, which can take you through some of the ins and outs of programming with Swift. It will be useful for those interested in learning about the new language.

The book description is included below:

Swift is a new programming language for creating iOS and OS X apps. Swift builds on the best of C and Objective-C, without the constraints of C compatibility. Swift adopts safe programming patterns and adds modern features to make programming easier, more flexible, and more fun. Swift’s clean slate, backed by the mature and much-loved Cocoa and Cocoa Touch frameworks, is an opportunity to reimagine how software development works.

    This book provides:
    - A tour of the language.
    - A detailed guide delving into each language feature.
    - A formal reference for the language.

You can download this iBook from the iBooks Store right now absolutely free from this iBooks Store link.
