• Pebble Smart Watch Firmware 2.2 Adds A Variety of New Features

Pebble, the popular smart watch, has received an update recently, adding in iBeacon support, the ability to reorganize the system’s Launcher Menu, and iPhone music volume controls. Available for download now is Pebble firmware 2.2 and the accompanying version of the Pebble Smartwatch app for the iPhone. The app uses Apple’s iBeacon specification to know when the iPhone and Pebble Smartwatch are within close distance to one another.

After the recent update, users can hold the middle “select” button when in the music app to switch top and bottom buttons from tracks skipping to volume control. In order to reorganize the main menu, users have to hold the select button on the system Launcher. A new progress bar for music tracks is also added to Pebble firmware 2.2. This feature is only available for iOS users and not for Android users.

The vibrating alarm in Pebble is now extended to alert users for ten minutes as opposed to just one minute. Lastly, Pebble firmware 2.2 enables new JavaScript apps, which can now be downloaded from the Pebble app store.
