• Popular Path Social Network Releases New Standalone Messaging App for iOS

On Friday, the popular Path social networking company released a new standalone messaging application dubbed Path Talk to accompany its all-in-one Path application. The social network also launched version 4.0 of its all-in-one Path application for iOS to go along with it.

With messaging now separate from the all-in-one application, Path seems to be taking a Facebook-like approach to getting users to use separate applications for different purposes. Path Talk lets you send messages, media, location, and more to any of your Path friends, and Path promises that anything you send is deleted from their servers within 24 hours to protect your privacy.

Users can take advantage of stickers, status symbols, voice messaging, and more. Path also promises that a ton of other new features are coming in the future, such as the ability to send restaurants, stores, and more.

Path Talk has a nice iOS 7-friendly interface and seems very fluid. If you'd like to give the new Path Talk a try, it's available for free in the iOS App Store at this link. If you're using the Path social networking application too, you might want to grab the 4.0 update. Existing users will find the Path 4.0 update under the Updates tab in the App Store application; alternatively, you can download the latest version of Path for free from this App Store link.
