• Unlocked iPad Mini and iPad Air Models Being Sold in Japan

It has recently been confirmed by Apple, that the company launched an unlocked variant of the cellular iPad in Japan. This release will allow users in Japan to purchase the device and use it on the carrier of their liking. If you currently live in Japan, you will be able to purchase the device either through Apple retail stores there or simply through the company’s online store. The unlocked version of the iPad can also be used in other countries if travelling abroad.

If you do business trips or just travel a ton, all you would have to do is switch out the SIM card to a local mobile carrier in order for the device to work. Both the cellular iPad Mini and iPad Air models are available for the carrier-unlocked devices. Before launching this, Apple was selling cellular iPads in the retail stores with SIM cards that were locked specifically for NTT Docomo and SoftBank carriers.
