Sapphire Crystal iPhone 6 Display Holds Up Well After Knife and Key Test

After the release of a video showcasing the supposed flexible iPhone 6 sapphire display, a new video by YouTuber Marques Brownlee shows a more in depth durability test. The sapphire panel is not only bent by Brownlee, but it goes through a test with a knife and set of keys as well. The test was an attempt to leave scratch marks on the panel.
The video starts off with a look at the sapphire crystal display that is supposed to be the display for the next generation iPhone. The glass is an extremely clear piece that is demonstrated in the video- it is also the piece currently used in the iPhone 5s Touch ID sensor and camera lens. In the latter part of the video, Brownlee takes out a pocket knife and some keys to perform a quick test on the panel’s surface. After failing to leave any scratch marks on the glass, he does a bend test.
After a few tests, it seems like the sapphire crystal display held up extremely well. Although, we’re sure Apple doesn't just rely on these few tests in deciding what type of material should be used for the upcoming devices. Take a look at the video above and decide for yourself if this will make a good iPhone 6 display.
