• Reports Say Apple is Looking To Hire Previous White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney

Recent reports claim that former White House press secretary Jay Carney, will be taking on and running for the public relations expert position at Uber and Apple. According to Re/code, Apple is on the lookout to replace PR chief Katie Cotton, as she has now retired and left the company. Former White House press secretary, Jay Carney, is supposedly being considered over at Uber as well. Apparently, Uber is looking for an expert in communications and someone who has political background to help fight against Taxi services.

Travis Kalanick, Uber CEO, is reportedly speaking with high profile figures with political backgrounds to fill the vacant role. Jay Carney was previously President Barack Obama’s press secretary, but stepped down last month after 3 years in office. He also served as head of communications for Joe Biden before working as press secretary. Ever since Cotton left the company back in May, Apple has been missing someone acting as the head of PR. It was thought at the time that Natalie Kerris or Steve Dowling, who have both worked more than ten years at Apple, were going to take up the vacant position.
