• Siri-Like BlackBerry Assistant Feature Released

Some people still firmly believe in the better late than never theory and BlackBerry is one of the companies that seem to follow the same philosophy. The company is just now introducing its Siri competitor, the blandly named BlackBerry Assistant, which performs several Siri-like tasks such as sending text messages, checking the weather, and finding directions, so thereís not much here for Apple fans to be jealous of.

BlackBerry does seem to have a secret weapon up its sleeve though that sets it apart according to the company. Itís rather lackluster actually; users can activate the phoneís flashlight through the use of the BlackBerry Assistant. For those of you who didnít know, this is actually a feature that Siri doesnít offer but still, it seems far from a game changer.

With everything being said and done, seeing iPhone competitors come out with features is great news for consumers but in this particular case, the BlackBerry Assistant doesnít seem to really fit the bill. Siri continues to remain supreme, despite leaving us in the dark from time to time.

The only thing I wish about Siri is that it would automatically switch to Voice Assistant when you don't have internet or that Voice Assistant features would be able to be used offline.

Every time I see anything about Blackberry, I am again surprised that they still exist.

It's good they are still holding on. I tried their new "Z10", and it's pretty nice! If I had to stop using my iPhone, they'd be my first stop.
