• Shazam Brings its Popular Music-tagging App to the Mac OS X Platform

More than likely, you're familiar with the popular Shazam music-tagging application by now. The application has been available on iOS and other mobile platforms for what feels like forever, and starting Thursday, the company is making its application available on the Mac.

The new Mac application is Menu Bar-based, and it will be running in the background and listening for music. As the application detects music playing around you, it instantly tags the music and you'll get information about the song, such as lyrics, as well as ways to obtain the song, such as through iTunes.

The application keeps a running history of all the music it has tagged, just like the iOS version, so you can always look back later at all of the tracks that the application has tagged. You can click on any of the results to bring up a full-screen application with information about the song with the inclusion of sharing options.

If you would like to learn more, or give the new Shazam Mac OS X application a try, you can head over the Mac App Store via this link. Shazam for the Mac is completely free.
