Although current plans still call for Apple to unveil its next-generation flagship iPhone -- iPhone 6 -- in mid-September, the formal launch and product rollout to consumers may not take place as quickly as it has in past years.
A source knowledgeable within Apple's retail operations has just revealed to MacRumors that iPhone 6 will be available in stores for purchase on October 14th, one month after the device is formally unveiled at an anticipated September 16th media event.
"Apple launching the iPhone 6 on a Tuesday would be a change from past years, as the company has launched previous iPhones and most new hardware on a Friday," the report reads, "However, the source claims that high customer demand and an ample supply due to a large production effort will motivate Apple to start iPhone 6 sales earlier in the week."
If accurate, what does this mean for other eagerly anticipated Apple products, including a new iPad Air, iPad mini and, perhaps, the iWatch? If iPhone 6 doesn't launch until October 14th, it's a safe bet that iWatch, new iPads, and other refreshed products won't be released until a later date (but still before the holidays) with their own media event introducing the products following Apple's mid-September iPhone 6 unveiling.
