• Apple Seeds OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 5 to Developers

On Monday, following the seed of iOS 8 beta 5 to developers for testing, Apple also seeded OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 5 to developers for testing. It seed comes two weeks after the seed of OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 4 to developers for testing.

Apple seeded OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 5 for testing in order to help the company seek and destroy any bugs that need to be fixed, as well as to help fill the operating system's feature set ahead of the final release to the public this Fall. In addition, it allows developers to prepare their applications for the software when it's released to the public.

Those running a version of OS X Yosemite Developer Preview will find this update in the Mac App Store's Updates tab.

When released to the public, OS X Yosemite will be able to run on all of these machines. The new operating system comes with a refreshed user interface, as well as tons of new features. As we learn more about the seed, we will keep you updated with what's new, so stay tuned!
