On Thursday, Apple followed their usual footsteps and named a new App of the Week. The pick this week is the popular SketchBook application for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad by Autodesk. If you remember, last week Apple picked Deemo to be the App of the Week.
Both the iPhone/iPod touch (normally $1.99) and the iPad (normally $4.99) version of the application are free this week only as a part of being deemed the App of the Week.

The application is for sketch artists to create sketch art. The developers claim that this is probably one of the closest experiences to drawing on a pad and paper that you're going to get on a mobile digital device. Features of the application include:
• The entire screen is your canvas with full screen work space and an unobtrusive user interface
• Control the finest details of your art with up to a 2500% zoom
• Choose from over 100 preset brushes, including flood fill, pencils, pens, and markers that deliver a natural drawing experience on a tablet
• Customize brushes exactly how you want them – adjust brush radius, opacity, rotation, and more
• Steady Stroke for greater predictability and control of brush strokes
• Create perfect shapes in half the time with Dynamic Symmetry
• Save speed drawing sessions to your Photo Library with Time-lapse Record
• Custom canvas sizes
• Easily transform layers with gestures
• Save work-in-progress and export to Photo Library or e-mail images
• Store canvases on iCloud
