• Robin Williams Tribute Posted On Apple’s Website Following Special Section in iTunes

It was just recently that we reported on Apple paying a special tribute to Oscar-winning comedian, Robin Williams, on their iTunes App Store page. A special section was given to Williams with his most well known movies, TV shows, and classic comedies. The actor was found dead in his home on Monday at only 63 years of age.

Today, the Cupertino-based company paid a special tribute to the actor on their Apple.com page and dedicated a small part to him, titling it “Remembering Robin Williams.” The photo being used on the website is a simple black-and-white picture of a smiling Robin Williams along with a message and birth and death dates.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Robin Williams. He inspired us through his passion, his generosity, and the gift of laughter. He will be greatly missed.
The tribute was not added to the website’s landing page and is featured in the carousel of rotating panels. Besides the tribute, you will find back-to-school sales, promotion of the iPhone 5s, and the company’s diversity report. Apple’s ‘Your Verse’ campaign is actually on the landing page and ironically, a monologue from Williams’ Dead Poet Society was used for the campaign.

"That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?"

It would have been better taste to just post that memorial yesterday and not instantly have iTunes Collections posted before the body was even cold.
Seem like Apple has "Collections" ready to go for when celebrities pass away that they immediately attempt to cash in on.
      Such poor taste.
