• Tim Cook Accepts Popular ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

We reported earlier that Apple CEO, Tim Cook, was challenged by Phil Schiller to take on the ALS Ice Bucket challenge. The Ice Bucket Challenge is to help raise awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Tim Cook responded to his marketing chief’s nomination and accepted the challenge at Apple’s beer bash Thursday evening.

The Cupertino-based company’s beer bash is part of its week-long diversity focused events. Many Twitter and Instagram posts show Tim Cook taking the stage and accepting the challenge. Phil Schiller completed the challenge as well, and was the first Apple executive member to pour water over himself. Cook has nominated another Apple board member and Disney’s Bob Iger, Beats co-founder and new Apple recruit Dr. Dre, and musician Michael Franti.

Other executives who have joined Cook on the Ice Bucket Challenge include Satya Nadella and Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg has nominated Bill Gates and Netflix CEO Reed Hastings to do the challenge. Let’s see if they will have as much sportsmanship as Cook and accept the challenge.
