• Apple Hires Veteran Tech Journalist Anand Shimpi

The Cupertino California company has recently confirmed hiring Anand Lal Shimpi. For those of you who don’t know who that is, it’s the 32-year-old founder of the popular tech site, AnandTech. Shimpi noted in an AnandTech posting that he was “officially retiring from the tech publishing world,”

Though his recruitment has been confirmed via a report from John Paczkowski from Re/code, there hasn’t been any additional information regarding what he is responsible for doing at Apple. We’ll just have to wait to find out until further, more concrete evidence is revealed.

Shimpi, noted that he began writing about technology in 1997 when he was 14 years old. He continued by mentioning the following regarding the matter:

I liked the idea of sharing knowledge online and the thought of building a resource where everyone who was interested in tech could find something helpful.
Though Shimpi is leaving AnandTech, Ryan Smith is taking over as new editor in chief for the online tech publication, allowing the tech publication to live on.
