• Walgreens and CVS Rumored to Partner With Apple for New Mobile Payment System

Just a few days ago, we reported that Nordstrom would be taking part in Appleís mobile payment system and just recently, it was reported that pharmacy chains CVS and Walgreens may also be joining in on the initiative. According to Re/code, the popular drugstores will be accepting purchases used with Appleís new iPhone payment system on the iPhone 6. Re/code also noted that the Cupertino-based company is looking to partner with stores people go to often, so that the new service would be accepted more.

CVS and Walgreens are expected to accept purchases made with the new iPhone payment system, details of which Apple plans to announce Tuesday, according to a person briefed on the plans. With more than 15,000 locations combined, acceptance by the two chains will give Apple a huge footprint if all of their stores are involved.
Currently, the two pharmacies have over 15,000 stores in the United States so if the deal works out, itíll be big for Apple. Other companies Apple has been said to partner with include major credit card companies American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. Apple is expected to announce the next generation iPhone 6 on September 9th, which is now only 3 days away. Letís see if they will touch upon the new payment system and mention which companies they are officially partnering up with.
