Apple is reportedly in the works of a much larger 12.9-inch iPad. Such a device would dwarf the iPad Air and the iPad Mini with retina display, and would be comparable to the size of many of Apple's laptop computers, such as the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air.
While Apple may be working on such a product, the iPhone 6 Plus is really eating into the resources necessary to mass produce it. Because the device is in such high demand and supply isn't that great for Apple's flagship smartphone, all resources are full-steam-ahead in mass producing the iPhone 6 Plus. This means efforts to produce a 12.9-inch iPad are being delayed, reports The Wall Street Journal:
While some are even skeptical that such a device will ever exist, the rumor mill points to many possible ideas of what the device could be like. The most recent suggests that the device will be able to dual-boot between OS X and iOS, making it more like a desktop-class tablet and able to compete with some of the leading tablet competition on the market.
