• USAA: Apple Pay Support to Launch November 7th

Apple last month announced it’s new Apple Pay feature for iOS 8 during their iPhone event and stated that the new feature would arrive in the U.S. in October. However, since then, no exact date had been given. According DailyDot, recent reports are saying that USAA claims Apple Pay will be available for customers with MasterCard and Visa starting November 7th. Daily Dot states:

Parekh says USAA will offer Apple Pay beginning on “Nov. 7 for USAA MasterCard and USAA Visa cards,” which is the first official date for an Apple Pay release thus far.
U.S. issuing banks that Apple stated would participate in Apple Pay include American Express PNC, Bank of America, Barclays, Capital One, Chase, Citi, Navy Federal Credit Union, USAA, USBank, and Wells Fargo. Major credit card companies participating include Visa, American Express, and MasterCard. Along with banks and major credit card companies, a list of retailers have also been said to incorporate Apple Pay on launch day, including Starbucks, Target, Groupon, Panera, Staples, Disney, and more.

No one knows if November 7th will be the actual launch date for the Cupertino-based company’s new feature, as it already seems like the initial date announced will be delayed. However, Apple’s website has a few banks on their ‘coming soon’ list, which might mean that those banks will launch in November with others starting this month. We will keep everyone updated when more news on this feature nears.

Why in the hell will they not announce an official date on this? Haven't they been working on it for years? SMH @ Apple sometimes!

Well USAA was not supposed to be a launch partner....so if USAA support is coming 11/7, initial support should be launching sometime before that? Just a guess/speculation.

Agreed! It was clear that USAA was not in the initial lineup. Shortly after the Keynote I received an email from USAA stating that they would be joining in the "coming weeks"

That's the day USAA is going to start rolling out the service. Imagine Apple will release it for the launch partner banks sooner than that. Either way, been looking forward to trying this out with USAA. Glad they got on board early.

I'm just waiting for my bank M&T. Spoke to a representative early and they will be on board. Just don't have a date yet.
